it is about seeking for love

Anatol Ugorski (1942–2023) was one of the most distinctive pianists of the last century, celebrated for his profound interpretations of Bach, Beethoven, Schumann and Messiaen.
A long-time professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and Hochschule für Musik Detmold, he shaped generations of pianists with his uncompromising artistry and existential depth.
His recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, including a landmark Schumann set and Messiaen’s Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant-Jésus, are considered modern reference points.
Regarded as one of the greatest pianists of the past 100 years, Ugorski combined technical mastery with visionary musical insight.

“It is about seeking for love…” - “Es hat mit der Suche nach Liebe zu tun…” (Anatol Ugorski)

He leaves his students with a legacy that constitutes a profound lifelong mission.

Your mentors

Katinka von Richter is founder of the Piano Academy and an experienced piano professor for over 20 year, while playing concerts all over the world. In honour and remembrance to preserve Anatol Ugorskis and Dina Ugorskayas legacy, this piano Academy is continuing to keep their heritage alive. Katinka von Richter as one of the very last students of Anatol Ugorski and Halida Dinova being one of his first former students in the class of Anatol Ugorski are today gathered in this mission: We make You step into the new generation of pianists connected to this roots. Together we will be searching for the truth in music and how to connect holistically to the matter. Because every pianist carries responsibility and creates a part for the future of classical music.

Paris-based Katinka von Richter enthralls her audiences with her pursuit of the truth and essence of music in each piece, while captivating equally through her strong stage presence and sense of mise en scène. Her engagement with contemporary art has led her to create her own short film series, courts-métrages Instant Piano Paris, in which she merges classical piano with performance art. Her concerts have led her to perform on stages across the world. Her repertoire ranges from her solo album with Brahms piano Sonatas, Beethoven and Schubert to Prokofjev and Liszt, while her artistic projects reveal a fresh and imaginative approach to classical performance.

Katinka von Richters perception of music and sound have been deeply shaped by her teachers. With Oxana Yablonskaya, Emeritus Professor of Juillard School she got her Diploma solist before she entered the class of Anatol Ugorski. Furthermore she was accompanied for several years by Dina Ugorskaya and accomplished her Master solist and Konzertexamen at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold. At the Ecole normale Paris she earned the equivalent in the class of Jean-Bernard Pommier. Today she is mentored on her concert repertoire by Konrad von Abel, former assistant of Sergiu Celibidache.

Cleveland-based pianist Halida Dinova has performed and recorded with leading European orchestras and toured across North and South America, Europe, and Russia. She is known for her cycles of works by Schubert, Chopin, and Scriabin, as well as contemporary music by Sofia Gubaidulina, Alfred Schnittke, and György Ligeti.

Her recordings for DOREMI NAXOS, NAVONA, CHANDOS, and CANTIUS CLASSICS include Brahms’s Second Piano Concerto with the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic Orchestra. Her solo album, Halida Dinova plays Scriabin, earned her acclaim as a leading Scriabin interpreter.

Dinova performs in a piano duo with Dr. Irina Moreland, with highlights including a 2022 performance at Carnegie Hall.

Halida completed a DMA (Post-Graduate Performance Course in Piano) at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg, where she studied with legendary pianist Anatol Ugorski. Previously, she had earned a Masters degree in her home city of Kazan, where she studied at the Nazib Zhiganov Conservatory under Natalia Fomina, a pupil of Heinrich Neuhaus. She completed her Ph.D. on Ernest Bloch, earning the title Kandidat Nauk (recognized in the US as a Ph.D. in Musicology).

A Steinway Artist, Dinova teaches and performs internationally, with experience at Cleveland State University, Nazib Zhiganov Conservatory, and international summer programs in China and New Zealand.
